Merry Christmas should be used to refer not only to the Holy Day, but they joyous season.

No, it shouldn't. Put yourself in someone else's place, like a person who celebrates Hanukah, you will realize how dictoral that is. How'd you like to majorly hear "Merry Christmas" then? :-P

Most people who go/have gone/went to church say Merry Christmas. You should ask other people why a person should say Merry Christmas. Ask your parents what's the difference...scratch that...ask your friends parents...scrath that...ask someone you don't know and ask them why.

I ment that in a way to point out that most people don't want Christ out of Christmas.  A joyous season.  The best time of the year.  After the Holidays, a big depression hits most.

No MSP...the depression hits DURING the holiday, because it is a time for love and family and friends...quite depressing.
