It was unvieled today, and it is basically guarenteed to be a flop.  It costs 79,800 yen, meaning it will probably cost around $800 when it launches in America.  Few few people are going to be willing to pay that much for what is essentially a few different home entertainment components stuffed into one box.

There's now way I'd pay $800 for a system. You could buy 8 gamecubes for that much!

THEN YOU COULD DO THAT MARIO KART DOUBLE DASH THING WHERE YOU CONNECT EIGHT TVS AND EIGHT GAME CUBES SO YOU CAN HAVE ONE PERSON RACING ON ONLY ONE TV. I think that's a pretty stupid ide bout the eight tv thing.  Imean, who would have eight tvs and eight gamecubes lying around?

I know. I mean, maybe 2 gamecubes. but 8! Also you could buy 4.4 normal PS2s at the price of a PSX.

Good lord. Though I highly doubt it'll be 800 dollars even if I had 800 dollars I wouldn't buy it anyways. Its just an upgrade of a PS2.

Dudes, wait for PS3. According to my cousin, who works for Sony, it's going to have everything the PSX will have, only cheaper. (But PSX is a cooler name...)

It WILL be $800, or maybe $750.  79,800 yen is $720, and game consoles always cost less in Japan than in America.  Common sense says that the price will be either $750 or $800.

Umm, no.  PS3 is an entirely new console.  PSX is just PS2 with a DVD burner and a Tivo-like device.  But yes, PS3 will be cheaper.

Well, maybe not TiVo or a sattelite thingy or DVD burner, but... okay, you're right. Perhaps I read wrong.
