Well, you'd have to learn a programming language such as C++ or Blitz Basic. But there are other alternatives such as Clickteams "The Games Factory" (http://download.com.com/3000-2121-1709873.html?tag=lst-0-2) or GameMaker (http://www.cs.uu.nl/people/markov/gmaker/)

If you want to make games, learn Java. That's probably the premire language for games, unless you're talking about console games.
