Cloning... Yay or Nay?

The Tazmanian Tiger and Dodo where made extinct because of human actions, they should be cloned back...since it was our fault for causing the extinction.
One time, Buffalo nearly became extinct....but they managed to breed a good population again.
I say, clone the animals WE made extinct with our SELFISH behaviour....like the Tiger, Panda and other endangered animals when they go.

Why? so we replace them with a fake animal? If it is cloned it will be FAKE. Artificial. NOT real.

Hmm...in that case...I think we should do what we did to the Dodo and Tazmanian Tiger...become extinct.
I hate people when they think that bringing back animals that became extinct due to humans is stupid, I won't be happy if the Tiger goes extinct...or any other animal for that matter (humans don't count).
Besides, the animal would not be 'fake', it would be 'fake' if it was made out of plastic, metal or something unorganic.
It would simply be a slightly mutated form of the extinct animal.

It would be FAKE because it was MAN made in a LAB.

Everything is fake then, because it is man made.
Im man-made, your man-made...everything 'humain' is man-made...so therfor...it is fake?
Define fake for me, then define man-made.
Otherwise your theory clashes and causes great confusion.

I like your thinking, but since clones are an exact copy of another animal, the new genepool for that animal be narrow. Causing a much high chance of deformitys, and not allowing evulation to take it's course, a diverse gene pool is nesercey for evolution, and survial of a sepcies.

In order to make it through the world one needs some insanity.

The cheetah's gene pool is narrowed by natural events, not manmade...their numbers are low...but they still have a fairly stable population.
Im sure cloning animals that are extinct could be difficult, managing their population shouldn't be.

Well, if you mean "we are man made" because men and women conceive, then that is completely blown out of proportion. The term "man made" is anything built or structured by man. Not a natural event like conception. So, if you clone a Dodo in a lab it would be man made. Its almost like a re-issue of an animal. Not the original. I dont think I'd want clones roaming around. Yes, it is sad when animals become extinct, but let it alone.

The clone may be fake, but it is still a living animal that was once extinct.
I wouldn't be sad if humans or flies became extinct. lol. :d
I feel ashamed that humans are causing the extinctions, although we wish to protect our species...we should protect other species....because without them our planet would be boring and we would have no natural predator in the future.
(I theorised that there will be a super predator in about 100 years time that can survive gunshots, so it would hunt humans to thin out numbers when the population explodes again.)

No, man didn't make it.  Millions of years of evolution made it.  Humans in labs would just be helping some host animal give birth to it.

Rocko's statement is true though.  Bringing a species back to sustainibility would be difficult, if not impossible.

If you're not sure about it, don't post here.
Otherwise this isn't a debate.

I have nothing further to add as of this time, await my next post.

Thought I replied in this thread on the first page. Oh, well.

I wouldn't mind a cloning of a certain animal but it should be known to people what it is and maybe we could have a vote on it. We could vote on a series of animals but only one could make it. Then maybe a year or 2 later after they do clone it, we could vote again on another one.
