Gonna go buy a copy on Ebay...because the copy floating around on HOTU (home of the underdogs) is missing half of the audio, all the videos, and the extra 20levels.

Comparison: HOTU version is 700mb. Original Version was like 4gig.

When I get it tho, I'll put in zips somewhere you guys can get it. It is freely distributable, as it says in the installer licence. Many additional mods are made and still being made for it. The community is just so small though. Would be great for a LAN.

I've heard of it.  Back when it came out, I thought it would be good.  I think it was overshadowed by the popularity of Quake III though.  Almost all games were in 1999.

I got Freespace 1 Crippled Version from Dell when I bought my old comp...lol...a P3 450mhz, TNT2, 96mb ram system...lol

Ive heard of it. Never played it. I think iv seen it on Home of the Underdogs before. I kinda looks like an advanced verson of Asteroids. It looks awsome!

1. On HOTU, it's rated their best game on there.
2. It's play is very different from asteroids. Lotta tactical stuff. If ur gonna play FS2, you might wanna look around for FS1 and try that out first. It's a bit easier, but graphics are a bit shabby. I'm gonna go burn a copy of the FS1 CD that I have. Any1 that wants it, just ask :P

Going to get FS2 off of ebay shortly...

thats what i like about it...the graphics rock for a game with minimum requirements 700mhz. It's funny that the outside of the box says '3d acceleration required'...lolz...

I need this game. It will complete me!
