What Is The Biggest Problem Americans Face Today?
« on: January 16, 2005, 10:47:15 am »
Ok, in your opinion what do you believe is the biggest problem with American today?

If you ask me... Greed. As Americans we are lucky enough to live in a country that is blessed with many benefits and opportunities. But some people however, want to keep it all to thereselves. Then you got Americans living in poverty, who can't find jobs because of greedy corporate moguls. And major retailers such as Wal-Mart are hiring illegal immigrants from Mexico to grunge jobs for very little pay. Yes, I believe America is the greediest nation in the world... right next to Great Britain and Japan.

So, what do YOU think is a problem Americans face today?

>_< I find America problem is that they think they're above everyone else. I just watched something on FOX News with that Ann Coulter, and she DARED to say that Canada is lucky the US allows them to live on the same continent :O
I'm sorry....but....uh...right.
America's arrogance will be it's downfall. *shrugs*

I think the biggest issue is...CONSPIRACY. Conspiracy often leads us to disbelief and doubt, causing us to go crazy.

I'm sorry, but you obviously have no idea what Fundamentalists are. True Fundamentalists are way, way, WAY, worse than you can imagine Bush being. At least Bush doesn't decide what kind of clothes are holy enough for you to wear or what hairstyle is acceptable.

I don't know what is our biggest problem, but greed, ignorance, and arrogance are some of our problems.

Maybe, if they even bother to vote, but there are Christians, and then there are fundamentalists.

For instance, I am a Christian, but I am not a fundamentalist. Fundamentalists have a long list of "sinful" things. Such as: women wearing pants, women having short hair, makeup, TV, any music that is not directly Christian, fairy tales, any version of the Bible beside King James version, boys and girls swimming in the same pool, etc... Most of the time they make up their rules as they go. Suddenly, something that you would have never given a second thought too, is suddenly a sin. It also varies from church to church. I knew a church once that believed denim, open toe sandals, and bathing suits were "sinful".

Now, Bush doesn't push any of that, nor does anyone we have in power. When fundamentalists vote, they vote Republican, but for most of them Bush isn't good enough either. It's ridiculous.

That about sums it up.
Mr. Krabs: Do you smell it..that smell...a kind of smelly smell...a smelly smell that smells smelly. Anchovies.
Squidward: What?
Mr. Krabs: ANCHOVIES!
Anchovies: MEEP, MEEP, MEEP.

I probably won't be on here too much being in college and all. I will try to pop on every once in a while though to share my thoughts.

I know.  I'm not suggesting that all, or even most, Christians are fundamentalists.  I'm just saying that they are there, and for the most part, they vote in high percentages and support Bush.

My mother is in that populus... she is a Christian Fundamenatlist and supports Bush... however I supported Bush because of his policies and views, and beliefs... not because he is Christian. John Kerry believes in God too, but I didn't support him.
