SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman for GC, PS2, and GBA Release date: Q3-2002 Jumping Jellyfish! Its SpongeBob vs. The Flying Dutchman. While cruising through Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob discovers a series of treasure chests covered with WARNING signs. Ignoring the signs, SpongeBob opens the chests, only to discover he has released the imprisoned Flying Dutchman! The Dutchman is furious that he was disturbed, and now wants to make SpongeBob and his friends part of his ghostly crew, so he flies away to cause mischief throughout Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob must now seek advice from Squidward, who owns a book about ghostly lore. SpongeBob learns that the only way to stop the Dutchmans wicked plans is to find the lost treasures hidden throughout Bikini Bottom. Contains voiceovers from the television series including SpongeBob and Patrick Star! Editors note: It looks like this could be the first really good SpongeBob game. I was surprised that they didn't use Cel-Shaded graphics, but it looks ok. Most platformers that are based on franchises stink, but theres always a chance that its good.
